Make This: Giant DIY Heart Art / Prop for Valentine's Day
Valentine's Day is but 2 and half weeks away, so even though it'south all the same January, I'yard kick off V-Day DIYs today with a bang.
You guys know that I dearest anything oversized at this point: giant ampersands, large ol' holiday artwork, etc. But I haven't made annihilation oversized for Valentine'southward Day yet. And so, I'm only going to go ahead and remedy that today, if that's cool with you…
Make a giant (iii feet tall) center photo booth properties and prop that you can employ as decorative artwork around your house pretty much anytime of year. But especially in Feb. And if you're the type that takes V-Day photos with your man (or your true cat) for postcards, etc, this is a great prop to include in the photos. Just sayin'.
Hither's how to brand your own…
Supplies Needed:
ane piece of foam core that is 36 inches long or larger // acrylic paint // pigment brush // Xacto knife or box cutter // 2 saw tooth hangers (if using as hangable artwork) // craft mucilage // pen or pencil // permanent mark
How-To:
1. Freehand a tall heart on the biggest slice of foam core you tin find, with a pen or pencil. Then trace over it with a marker and so you can run across the lines better.
two. Side by side, cut out the middle shape with an Xacto knife or box cutter.
3. Then, paint the entire center with two-3 coats of acrylic arts and crafts pigment. Wait for information technology to dry out completely.
4. Add two small saw hooks to the back with potent glue if y'all program to hang it on the wall. And enjoy!
Here'southward what the finished DIY looks like…
Subsequently Valentine's Twenty-four hours is over, paint your eye black or another non-Valentine colour (similar teal) to proceed this large ol' heart relevant long subsequently February 14th is over. You could also attach a blackness and white drafter'south impress, made from one of your favorite photos, to the heart with mucilage and then cut affluent to the foam cadre for a totally unlike look.
So what do you recollect? Would y'all use this as a photo booth backdrop, or every bit a prop, or equally hangable artwork?
